Abstract

The travel supply chain was one of the many supply chains severely disturbed by the COVID-19 epidemic. With the increase in travel restrictions, there was a considerable decline in hotel bookings and increased booking cancellations. This study sheds some light on customer travel preferences and safety attributes while travelling amidst the pandemic. It also provides a vision of changing tourist preferences after the global pandemic. Results of the study indicate that safety measures against COVID-19, restaurant availability and different cuisines, recreational services, value for money, and customer ratings were the most significant attributes considered under their respective major criteria by tourists while selecting hotel accommodation. The results of this study can be used to evaluate the choices of customers, and steps can be taken to enact these preferences to remould the resort businesses.
