Abstract

Abstract : Mol. Nutr. Food Res . 2020, 64, 2000250 DOI: 10.1002/mnfr.202000250 Hydrolyzed casein accelerates gastric transit by activating ghrelin signal and improving the development of interstitial cell of Cajal in stomach, thereby increasing carbohydrates (CHO) availability in the small intestine. The increased CHO availability in the small intestine leads to the increased microbial CHO metabolism with higher lactate concentration which may be associated with increased abundance of Streptococcus, favoring gut health.
