Food Res. 2018, 62, 1700638 DOI:10.1002/mnfr.201700638 Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM is a probiotic bacterium, and plant phenolics are prominent secondary metabolites found in foods and beverages, together residing in the gut. The combination of probiotics and plant phenolics thus potentially provides enhanced health benefits. In article number 1700638 by Birte Svensson, new insights are presented on molecular interactions between L. acidophilus NCFM and five well‐known plant phenolics: resveratrol, tannic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and salicin.
