Abstract

Abstract : LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Develop a better understanding of three popular adjunct modalities: kettlebells, battling ropes, and medicine balls. Learn how to use these modalities to help infuse fun, new strength training, and cardiovascular fitness challenges into a client's workout by using goal-specific activities to "break up" an exercise bout. Abstract : Health and fitness professionals with clients who may need a little extra motivation to maintain exercise adherence might want to try incorporating one or more training toys into workouts to infuse fun and help break up the rigors to fitness training. This article reviews kettlebells, battling ropes, and medicine balls and offers practical applications for use in the fitness setting.
