- Abstract: Modeling of guided Lamb waves propagation in piezoelectric-semiconductor multilayered structures made of AlAs and GaAs is evaluated in this paper. Here, the Legendre polynomial method is used to calculate dispersion curves, frequency spectrum and field distributions of guided Lamb waves propagation modes in AlAs, GaAs, AlAs/GaAs and AlAs/GaAs/AlAs-1/2/1 structures. In fact, formulations are given for open-circuit surface. Consequently, the polynomial method is numerically stable according to the total number of layers and the frequency range. This analysis is meaningful for the applications of the piezoelectric-semiconductor multilayered structures made of AlAs and GaAs such as in novel acoustic devices. Highlights: Legendre polynomial method should be employed to investigate the Lamb waves propagation in multilayered structures. The convergence of Legendre polynomial approach obtained with very low order truncation M. The Legendre polynomial method is perfectly stable, independently of the total number layers of the structures. The piezoelectric multilayered structures have a great effect on the Lamb dispersion curves and frequency spectrum.
