Abstract

ABSTRACT: Given the importance of e-HCM (electronic human capital management) systems' implementation for leveraging organizational agility, we conducted a qualitative research at the level of six organizations from private sector (commerce and services) and three organizations from public administration in order to emphasize the gaps between the perceptions of HR professionals from these target companies on e-HCM systems' effects at operational, relational and transformational level. Based on knowledge collected during the interviews with HR professionals in the target organizations from Romania, the findings illustrate how they perceive the benefits of the e-HCM systems implementation. The goals of e-HCM systems' implementation, the specific tools integrated in the e-HCM systems, the degree of employees' adaptation to the changes occurred after the implementation of the e-HCM systems and the role played by the HR professionals in the process regarding the integration of the e-HCM systems in the overall organizational strategy are also investigated. The findings make important contributions to research on e-HCM in Romanian particular context, as they outline relevant capabilities of e-HCM systems integrated in different types of organizations from public and private sectors, as well as the innovative e-HCM technologies, which support the human capital development and significant growth value creation.
