- Abstract : ABSTRACT: A GAP IS SAID TO EXIST BETWEEN SPORT SCIENCE AND COACHING RESEARCH AND REAL-WORLD PRACTICE BECAUSE OF THEIR DIFFERENT REALITIES. MOREOVER, THERE IS VERY LIMITED RESEARCH AND THEORIZING ON THE SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING (S&C) COACHING. THE DISCIPLINE OF SOCIOLOGY AND ITS SUBDISCIPLINE THE SOCIOLOGY OF SPORT COACHING OFFER A WEALTH OF TOOLS TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES AND ENHANCE COACH EDUCATION, PREPARATION, AND ULTIMATELY EFFECTIVENESS. THUS, THE PURPOSE OF THIS ARTICLE IS TO PRESENT SOCIOLOGY TO THE FIELD OF S&C BY DEMONSTRATING HOW A SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE COULD PROVIDE VALUABLE INSIGHTS INTO S&C COACHES' EVERYDAY ISSUES.
