Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="smll201501412-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>pH‐responsive liposomes</bold> are prepared by conjugating glycol chitosan (GC) to the outer lipid membrane. This functionalization allows the liposomes to transition from a negative charge at physiologic pH to a positive charge in the acidic extracellular tumor microenvironment. Upon obtaining a positive charge, the GC‐liposomes loaded with doxorubicin exhibited enhanced cellular uptake and improved anticancer efficacy. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgk2rgqrr5" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
