<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">PCV7 serotype replacement was near complete 5 years after PCV7 introduction.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">The carriage rate remained stable through out the 5 year period.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">Serotypes unique to PCV13 significantly decreased by the final winter.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">Clonal expansion of existing genotypes was primarily responsible for replacement.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0025"> <label></label> <p id="par0025">Continued surveillance is needed to monitor replacement until equilibrium is reached.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
