<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">We analyzed molecular abnormalities in Chinese females with advanced SQCLC.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">Three specificities of female SQCLCs were observed: less smoking history, younger age and more peripheral type.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">No significant differences in EGFR, KRAS, EML4-ALK, PTEN and FGFR1 between different genders were found.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">Significant lower frequency of PIK3CA mutation was detected in females.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
