Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The application of helical poly[(<italic>S</italic>)‐3‐vinyl‐2, 2'‐dihydroxy‐1, 1'‐binaphthyl] (<bold>L*</bold>) in the asymmetric borane <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">reduction of prochiral ketones</named-content> was studied. The results showed that <bold>L*</bold> had excellent <named-content content-type="chemicalTechnology" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">catalytic activity</named-content> as well as <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">enantioselectivity</named-content>, giving up to 96% yield and up to 99% enantiomeric excess (ee) of the corresponding secondary alcohol at 25 °C.
