<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjn2njzf6" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />A transition-metal-free method has been developed for the boryl substitution of functionalized aryl-, heteroaryl- and alkenyl halides using a silylborane/alkoxy-base reagent. Borylation of (<italic>Z</italic>)-alkenyl halides proceeded in a stereoretentive manner.</p> </abstract>
