Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <italic> <bold>American Foulbrood</bold> </italic> is a widespread and devastating disease of the honey bee brood caused by the bacterium <italic>Paenibacillus larvae.</italic> In their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 10821 ff., </ext-link> R. D. Süssmuth et al. elucidated a fascinating nonribosomal biosynthesis through the isolation and structure elucidation of the antibacterial and antifungal paenilamicins.
