<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="boc201400033-abs-0001"> <title>Review</title> <p>Lamin A/C is a structural protein of the nuclear envelope, highly expressed in contractile tissues such as heart and skeletal muscles. It mediates nuclear–cytoskeletal communication, mechanostransduction and gene regulation.
