<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Encapsulation</bold> Single‐cell encapsulation holds great potential for cell‐based sensors, cell therapy, tissue engineering, as well as single‐cell biology. In their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 129 ff., </ext-link> Insung S. Choi et al. utilize a layer‐by‐layer cycle deposition of poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) and in situ silicification to encapsulate <italic>Saccharomyces cerevisiae</italic> individually in silica with control of shell thickness.
