<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adhm201300629-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Charge‐neutralized lipid envelope‐type nanoparticles</bold> formed with SS‐cleavable and pH‐activated lipid‐like materials (ssPalm) accumulate rapidly in the liver without forming aggregates in the blood circulation, and result in a liver‐specific gene expression for a long duration (&gt;2 weeks) with neither immunological responses nor hepatotoxicity after intraveneous administration, when it carries pDNA free from CpG‐motifs. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgh11phvb8p" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
