Abstract : In this discussion of Skoufalos' "Couples Therapy: A Painful Hour, a Pained History, " I consider aspects of mutuality, mutual recognition, mutual vulnerability and the nature of unconscious relations in the treatment dyad of couples therapy in terms of healing processes for patients and therapists alike.
