Abstract

Highlights: Evidence favours Elective Neck Dissection in early Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. There is no accurate pre-operative investigation to assess depth of invasion. Elective neck dissection helps prognosticate patients better and yields valuable information. Isolated tumor cells and micrometastasis can only be detected after serial sectioning lymph nodes.
