- Abstract : Carbon Nanofiber Supercapacitors In article number 2100016, Maria Crespo Ribadeneyra, Magdalena Titirici, and co‐workers report densified lignin‐based carbon nanofibre electrodes for freestanding, cost‐efficient and sustainable supercapacitors. By compressing uniaxially several layers of nonwoven carbon nanofibre mats, the density is increased by a factor of six without compromising the pore‐related electrochemical double layer capacitance. This reduction of 'dead volume' enables an outstanding increase in volumetric energy density.
