Abstract

Abstract: The genus Glyphopneustes Pomel, 1869 is revised because a comparison of the morphological features of the type species, G. problematicus (Cotteau, 1866), and those of Glyphopneustes hattaensis Ali, 1992, had revealed the presence of significant differences. Based on these, a new genus, Aliopsis, is here erected, with G . hattaensis as its type species. The new genus is described systematically and attributed to the family Acropeltidae Lambert and Thiéry, 1914 in the order Arbacioida Gregory, 1900.
