- Graphical abstract: Image 1 Highlights: Short-term PM2.5 exposure was positively associated with women and elderly LC mortality. Summer and hot days elevated the risks of PM2.5 exposure on LC mortality. Winter weakened the risks of short-term PM2.5 exposure on female LC mortality. The risks on women and elderly men were more sensitive to season/extreme temperature.
