Abstract

Abstract: Mitral annular calcification (MAC) complicates the management of mitral valve (MV) disease, regardless of its etiology. Strategies to address MV surgery in MAC include two main options with their own pros and cons; respect and resect strategy. Here, we present a case of minimally‐invasive MV repair with partial annuloplasty in the management of noncircumferential MAC with respect to strategy. This technique may be an alternative option for rescuing high‐risk patients without extensive decalcification.
