- Abstract: Nodular melanoma (NM) is the third most common subtype of melanoma among African Americans trailing behind acral lentiginous melanoma and superficial spreading melanoma. This case of NM in an African American Japanese male was selected due to the rare occurrence of NM in people of color. Abstract : The relationship between UV radiation, skin pigmentation, and risk of melanoma in people of color is unclear. Melanoma in people of color may be overlooked due to low incidence in people of color, therefore high index of suspicion with biopsy helps to quickly diagnose melanoma in people of color.
