- Abstract: The relationship between the parameters of the high frequency (HF) antenna and the signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) is studied in this paper. External and internal noise features of HF are studied and its relationship with the antenna is investigated. All the antenna parameters that influence the SNR were analyzed synthetically. The most important factor was deduced and pointed out by theoretical analysis and calculation to reveal the basis. A novel receiving HF antenna design with outstanding performance was proposed as an application of our study. Plain Language Summary: A comprehensive analysis on the noise factor and the coefficients of high frequency (HF) receiving antennas' impact on signal‐to‐noise ratio revealed the basis for antenna design and choice. A novel HF antenna design based on the study was proposed for receiving use.
