- Abstract: Chemical investigation on the fungus Phellinus baumii led to the isolation of twenty-two compounds including two undescribed sesquiterpenes, namely phellinbaumins A and B, and three undescribed alkyl-benzene derivatives, namely phellinbaumins C–E. Phellinbaumins A and D displayed moderate inhibitory activities on nitric oxide (NO) production with IC50 values of 31.7 and 24.3 μ M, respectively. Graphical Abstract: ga1 Highlights: Twenty-two compounds have been isolated from Phellinus baumii . Five undescribed metabolites have been identified. The structures were established by means of spectroscopic methods. Two compounds exhibited inhibitory activity on NO production.
