- Abstract : Leaf Wax Chemistry In article number 2200092, Miriam Anna Huth and co‐workers analyze the wettability, surface structures, and chemistry of wheat varieties and develop in vitro test systems, comparable to that of the leaf surfaces, to study the signal character of the leaf wax chemistry and wetting on germination development of powdery mildew. The cover shows wheat plants ( Triticum aestivum ) in a field and a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of a leaf surface with an attached fungal spore as the inset.
