Abstract

Abstract: To achieve a suitable alternative for high-risk chemicals, the antifungal effects of zinc oxide (ZnO) and ZnO-ZmEO ( Zataria multiflora essential oil loaded on ZnO) were investigated against six isolates of Fusarium as a destructive phytopathogenic fungus. The results showed that ZnO-ZmEO had a fungistatic effect against all isolates except F. oxysporum f.sp. lentis, and fungicidal activity against F. graminearum . The mycelial growth inhibitory of ZnO-ZmEO was increased by 42.70% compared to the ZnO and by 66.33% compared to pure essential oil. According to the current findings, nanoencapsulation of Z. multiflora essential oil based on ZnO significantly enhanced its antifungal potential.
