- Key points: SCAI Shock staging is dynamic and reclassification is expected to occur over time. SCAI Shock classification at 24 hours is an independent predictor of in‐hospital mortality. Further studies investigating the role of early invasive hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support are still needed.
