- Abstract: A suitable neutron source is indispensable for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). This article proposes a design of beam shaping assembly (BSA) for an accelerator-based BNCT (AB-BNCT) epithermal neutron source facility using 7 Li(p, n) 7 Be reaction, and the results show that all parameters of BSA meet the recommended values of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The dose distribution and parameters in the Snyder head phantom are calculated using the Monte Carlo simulations to evaluate the performance of the epithermal neutron beam.
