- Abstract: Rubella was declared eliminated in the United States in 2004. During 2013–2015, 2 infants with congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) were born in New York State. Both mothers were foreign born and traveled to Yemen during their pregnancy. Delayed consideration of CRS led to preventable exposures and a substantial public health response.
