- Abstract: The method of salt impregnation was applied to grow magnetic alloy nanoparticles (Ni20 Fe80, Co93 Fe07 or Ni20 Co80 ) on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). It was confirmed by SEM and XRD that the method gives nanopowders where the metal component is in the form of granules (20-40 nm in diameter) which are distributed over the surface and edges of the nanotubes. Measurements of magnetic properties confirmed that magnetic particles are small single-domain, randomly oriented assembly of spherical (or close to spherical) particles on the MWCNTs surface. Saturation magnetization of the investigated nanopowders weakly depends on temperature while coercive field increases under temperature decrease.
