- Abstract: Pesticides are widely used in agricultural and non-agricultural sectors posing, risks to human health as well as the ecological system. Therefore, inexpensive and convenient detection methods are required to detect pesticides in biological samples. The demand for fluorescent-based nano-sensor has proved to be a rapid along with reliable method for quantification of pesticides and gaining attention in various fields including chemo-sensors, biosensors, bioimaging, and so on. It has been considered a promising and effective tool in monitoring harmful and small analytes and possessing unique selectivity, high sensitivity, low cost and ecofriendly. Several optical sensing methodologies have been employed for the detection, such as nanoparticles, quantum dots, carbon dots, metal nanoparticles. In addition, nanoparticles based aptasensors, antibodies, aggregation induced emission, metal organic frameworks, ratiometric fluorescence nanoprobe, photoluminescence metal-organic frameworks, fluorescent molecular imprinted polymers, paper-based analytical device, electrochemiluminescence sensors, and fluorescent probe based on Cucurbit[ n ]urils have emerged as the new class of fluorescent materials with great potential in the field of optical sensing.
