- The goal of this study is to see how gender diversity on bank boards affects the value and profitability of the company. Financial institutions, both public and private, are examined in the study. Data from 28 Indian banks have been analysed for this study. Panel data analysis has been applied to data collected from 2012 to 2020. Private sector banks' stock values suffer when they have more than one woman on their board of directors; public sector banks' stock values benefit when this occurs. Our research demonstrates that ROA has a negative correlation with the gender diversity of boardrooms. We believe this is the first comparative study of its kind in the banking industry to focus on paper. It is recommended that policymakers increase the number of female board members so that they can serve as effective decision makers to improve the firm's performance.
