- Abstract: When the gains of steam turbine governor are properly tuned with modification in control parameters, it can impart effective damping torque to low frequency oscillations in power system. Here a fractional steam governor control action is proposed to provide damping action whose parameters are tuned by Sail Fish Algorithm (SFA). The system oscillations are generated by variable Solar Photo Voltaic (SPV) integrations. The additional steam governor damper employs fractional lead-lag based control action. The low frequency model of steam generator with SPV penetration has been examined with step and random solar power generation for justifying proposed steam governors damping control action. The system eigen values have been analyzed for different solar penetrations.
