Abstract

Abstract : Over one-quarter of patients would choose not to undergo standard oesophagectomy again, at least 1 year after they underwent neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and standard oesophagectomy. These patients had worse short- and long-term health-related quality of life (HRQoL) than patients who chose standard oesophagectomy. Considering both treatments, 5-year survival and long-term HRQoL were considered most important factors by individual patients.
