- Abstract: Machining of hard to cut materials is a difficult task nowadays. High cutting powers, poor surface grade, less tool life are the major concerns related to machinability. Conventional machining methods are found to be more time taking and also not economical. To overcome these problems, researchers are now opting for hybrid machining methods. Among various methods, the laser-assisted machining method has obtained attention in recent years. Laser helped machining is the novel hybrid machining process that helps in machining hard to cut materials to enhance their machinability. This paper sums up the machining conduct of the laser helped machining of hard to cut materials.
