Abstract

Key points: What's already known about this topic? Prenatal diagnosis of sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCAs) is increasing. Counselling parents about SCAs can be a challenge for health care professionals because of the range of outcomes. What does this study add? Views from a parent‐support organisation on parents' experiences around diagnosis of an SCA. Parents value up‐to‐date information and support to make the right decision for their individual circumstances. Education on SCAs and support for all professionals involved in counselling parents (including private sector providers of NIPT) would help staff deliver high‐quality, individualised care.
