Abstract

Abstract : Global Virtual Exchange (GVE) is a frequently used tool to connect classes around the world and bring internationalization into modules. The use of innovative online tools to link cohorts creates a methodology which promotes collaboration and information sharing. Alongside content delivery, students engage with international peers and manage their intercultural development. Large scale GVE programmes, such as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), have been in education for a long time. Instructors today are adapting the methodology for module enhancements and allowing short-term connections on specific topics for their students to gain real-world experiences. The case study presents the way in which a short-term module enhancement in education between a Chinese and an American institution was designed, delivered, and managed.
