- Abstract: This study aimed to know the phenotypic performance of the quantitative character of black rice expected lines resulted from bulk selection. The experimental method was used in this study by using Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with two replicates. The genetic materials used in this study were 18 rice genotypes consisting of 16 black rice expected lines from bulk selection and two genotypes of parents (Baas Selem and Situ Patenggang). Each genotype was planted in 1 m × 10 m plots, planting space of 25 cm × 25 cm with 1 plant per clump, and conducted at paddy fields in the village of Nyurlembang, Narmada, West Lombok. The study was carried out for 4 months started from February to June 2018. Maintaining the plants includes weeding, pest control, fertilization with 300 kg ha −1 Ponska and 200 kg ha −1 Urea. Results of the study showed that: There were significant differences of harvest date, plant height, number of productive tiller per clump, panicle length, number of filled grains and empty grains, 100 grains weight, and grain yield per hectare. The G12 line was the highest yield (8.25 tons ha −1 ) which is supported by yield components such as the number of filled grains per panicle (154.63 grains), panicle length (25.08 cm) and the number of productive tillers per clumps (25.80 plants). The grain yield of G12 was not significantly differed from both parent, Situ Patenggang (7.25 tons ha −1 ) and Baas Selem (6.59 tons ha −1 ).
