Abstract

Abstract: Students in tertiary institutions should also be served with brain-based teaching-learning because all humans have a unique way of learning according to the way the brain works. This research begins with the author's assumption that students of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of IAIN Bukittinggi are not yet familiar with brain-based teaching. The purpose of this study was to determine the views of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty students about brain-based teaching. The method used in this study was to use a questionnaire given to 100 respondents, namely students of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Bukittinggi taken randomly, the results of the questionnaire obtained were then counted for the percentage. The results of this study found that students' views of Lecturer's expectations were 21%, views about how the brain works 17%, views about learning styles 19%, views about multiple intelligences 18% and views on pleasant learning were 25%. From these data, it can be concluded that the students' views on brain-based teaching have not been maximized.
