- Abstract: Aerospace missions are very expensive and any carelessness may lead to mission failure. So, each component that should be installed in a launch vehicle and spacecraft essentially be designed and developed to ensure its reliability. In this paper, a beam made up of Al 6061 T6 material is modeled in the ANSYS 18.0 software and subject to a similar condition to the component of the launcher vehicle. Transient acceleration load having magnitude approximately equal to the amplitude of acceleration developed during pyrotechnic events is applied in X, Y and Z direction of the beam and response of the beam at different locations of the beam is calculated and based on the response acceleration time history a Shock Response Spectrum (SRS) is plotted for locations of interest on the beam. Furthermore, Response Spectrum Analysis is performed on the beam based on the SRS of pyroshock event, provided by the Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
