- Abstract : Modulating the helical pitch by simply playing with steric effects in a series of helically flexible BODIPY dimers allows easy tuning of the luminescence dissymmetry factors associated with their circularly polarized emissions. Abstract : Modulating the helical pitch by simply playing with steric effects in a selected series of helically flexible BODIPY dimers enabling circularly polarized luminescence, CPL, allows easy tuning of the luminescence dissymmetry factor, g lum, associated with the circularly polarized emission. This result unravels the significance of a simple structural element, the molecular-helix elongation, in the rational design and modulation of the still scarcely explored CPL emitters based on small, helical and flexible organic multichromophoric molecules and, therefore, of the CPL materials based on them.
