Abstract

Highlights: The use of double hearing protection is widespread in the industry. The only available method for calculating double hearing protection efficiency dates back to 1990. The literature review does not show any progress in double hearing protection efficiency evaluation. A new calculation method, for indices more relevant in terms of hearing protection, is proposed. To establish this calculation method, new data on four combinations were collected and are provided.
