Abstract

Abstract : A new study conducted by Cornell University researchers found that online microaggressions have a strong impact on users with disabilities. The researchers interviewed 20 volunteers who were active on social media platforms and self‐identified as having disabilities. The researchers then asked participants to describe online discrimination and ableist microaggressions that had impacted their lives. The findings of the study are recorded in a paper entitled "Nothing Micro about It: Examining Ableist Microaggressions on Social Media."
