- ABSTRACT: In this investigation, a partitioned vertical enclosed cavity is introduced by a modified configuration in which, perforations are made on the interior horizontal flat non-conductive blades in the cavity. Then, experiments have been executed to investigate the effects of governing parameters on the thermal behavior due to the buoyancy-driven convection in the modified partitioned cavity. Side walls of the cavity have different constant temperatures, while other walls are kept unheated. The governing parameters are the Rayleigh number (7 × 10 3 ≤ Ra ≤1.45 × 10 4 ), blade's tilt angle (0° ≤ θ ≤ 150°), perforation's diameter to blade's width ratio (0.2 ≤ d/w ≤ 0.6) as well as blade's width to cavity's width ratio (0.7872 ≤ w/W ≤ 0.9367).
