- Abstract: This study entailed the use of a biogenic and eco-benign approach for decorating silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) onto a zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (Ag/ZIF-8). The prepared Ag/ZIF-8 was characterized by various physicochemical techniques. To explore the possibilities provided by Ag NPs in ZIF-8 for electrochemical sensing applications, we further used Ag/ZIF-8 to fabricate a modified electrode (Ag/ZIF-8/GCE) to construct a high-sensitivity hydrazine (Hz) sensor. The sensor exhibits high sensitivity (157.5–161.7 μA/μM/cm +2 ) and a low detection limit of approximately 0.2 μM in Hz detection. Thus, a biogenically developed Ag/ZIF-8 and the subsequent fabrication of Ag/ZIF-8/GCE for the electrochemical detection of Hz can afford an effective platform for sensing applications.
