- Abstract: This paper simulates the pipeline venting process using TGNET software and proves the changing laws of venting time with pipeline venting pressure, temperature, and instantaneous flow. Moreover, the venting process with different truck-line pressure, venting-pipe diameter, venting-pipe length, and valve opening are simulated, and it is concluded that an increase in truck-line pressure and venting-pipe length will extend the venting process with venting time becomes longer and pressure drop becomes slower. While an increase in venting-pipe diameter and valve opening will speed up the venting process with venting time becoming shorter and pressure drop becoming greater.
