Abstract

We hypothesise that inflammation plays a role in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and that the harm associated with corticosteroid-containing regimens in IPF may relate to local beneficial effects being counterbalanced by deleterious systemic effects [1, 2].
