- Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology has developed as disruptive opportunity for productive systems. Its role in fostering sustainability has matured considerably and become eligible to be systematically reviewed. This review presents the state of the art on the role of AM in boosting sustainability. The methodological scheme adopted includes bibliometric, network and meta- analyses of the scientific literature. The main result of the review highlights the strong research impact of holistic approaches towards AM sustainability, including the economic, environmental and social pillars.. Furthermore, this study tracks the future research development in the field of AM towards sustainability.
