- Abstract : We read with great interest the report by Ahrens et al. 1 The study showed that epilepsy monitoring unit admissions and epilepsy surgeries reduced during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 compared with 2019. However, the results were based on a retrospective analysis of annual reports from comprehensive epilepsy centers catering to drug-refractory epilepsy that account for 30% of epilepsy cases. 2
